about

LiveMusicScene was set up to draw attention to the local talent in the Bristol/Bath area.

The site has been going since April 2007, and so far I've been getting some positive responses. I do want to add though, that the reviews done by other people are their opinion, that does not mean that I always agree with them. When having a review done, you have to accept the good with the bad. I know that bands won't always be happy with what is written about them. I just hope that if a band doesn't agree with their review, they don't feel the need to vent their anger at me. If there is something you don't agree with, then contact me, but not for abuse. If it's a review I've done, I'll explain my reasons, if it's a review done by someone else, I'll try and find out their reasons.
Some of the best gigs I have been to have been at a local small venue. I feel that at these places, you get more of an atmosphere than you do at times in the larger venues.
If you go to a gig at a smaller venue, you can pay a couple of quid to see some groups you’ve never heard of, but come out having heard some quality music.
Through this website I want to provide interviews, reviews and gig guides of gigs in and around the Bristol area. I am also willing to print other people’s reviews if I feel they fit in with the site.
I want to try and get more attention to those local groups who deserve success and attention.
Any writing on the website is copyright to 'Jodie Humphries', unless it's stated that it is by anyone else, in that case it is their copyright!
The gig guides are either sent to me, or are copy and pasted off the venues website.
If you want to contact me, email me at livemusicscene@googlemail.com or visit my myspace www.myspace.com/livemusicscene

I will gradually be adding more links on here, so if you want a link added, please let me know.
Any interview I do, will provide links to the groups website and myspace, so that you can check out their music.

I want this to be a place where people feel they can find out the information they need for Bristol and the surrounding areas. Please feel free to let me know what you think of this site, and I will take the time to email you back, as I would love to hear what you have to say. That doesn't include abuse though!

LiveMusicScene is currently looking to build up a group of reviewers to go out and do live reviews. We can't afford to pay you, but any gigs we ask you to do, will have a guestlist spot provided, so that you don't have to pay to get in. It doesn't matter who you are, or how much experience you have, we're just looking for enthusiastic people that are willing to cover the many gigs that we are asked to cover.

We work with several PR companies around the country, such as Mercenary Publicity, Radar Maker, S-a-N Agency, Hero PR, and Motion PR, which has started to open up the opportunity for more CD reviews and gigs for us. We hope to continue to build up contacts around the country, to have more gigs available to those who want to work with LiveMusicScene, and to gain more content for the visitors to the website.

When it comes to working for LiveMusicScene, it doesn't matter how much time you can commit to the site, we just want to hear from people who share a passion for live music.

If you are interested, please contact Jodie at livemusicscene@gmail.com.

We look forward to hearing from you.

So I hope that you enjoy the site, and that you continue to visit to read what I have to offer.

Jodie
